I was walking through my kitchen when a flash of red caught my eye. I looked down and saw blood.
I had cut my foot and didn’t notice. Perhaps there’s something else on my mind.
Yesterday my mother called to tell me she has lung cancer.

I’m glad you’ve started this blog.
For what it’s worth, you’re making a difference already. My mom is finally scared enough to quit smoking.
I wish the price of her lesson wasn’t so high.

I feel your pain. My father also had lung cancer. Not the same type. He also smoked and I nagged him to stop from an early age. Obviously, it didn’t work. Now, my 19 year old daughter smokes. I am a failure.
Please know, my heart goes out to you as a caregiver the stress is high. Try not to become overwhelmed…yah…right.
This blog will be helpful in venting. Keep it up if you can.

poniday, I think the only people you can control less than your parents are your children.
My mother continues testing this week and begins chemo on the 23rd. I plan to document all that. Your daughter probably thinks that it can’t happen to her, but if you’d like to have her read this blog as it happens, feel free.
